My desire to serve on Farmington’s City Council comes from wanting to continue to live, and raise my children, in a small city with character and a wonderful sense of community. I bring an attitude of openness; experience; and a clear vision that will preserve Farmington’s past and future.

With the rapid development facing our city, the next few years are critical for Farmington. As I have served on the Planning Commission, I have strived to earn a reputation of listening and trying to fairly represent the interests of Farmington residents. As we face this period of growth, I believe that our City Council will need the foresight and integrity to carefully guide the commercial developments that are currently planned. The first concern should be to lessen negative impacts to our community, and especially our neighborhoods. Commercial development is necessary to mitigate the large tax increases that are otherwise inevitable; but all development must be done responsibly so not to detract from Farmington’s quality of life.

Like most Farmington residents we moved here for the quiet, unique, and diverse community. Many current issues facing our city threaten our way of life. Whether those outside interests are developers; or other government agencies; the responsibility of our elected officials is to protect the residents of Farmington.
