Important Issues

The most important issues facing Farmington are development and transportation issues. The actions taken by Farmington’s City Council over the next few years will determine Farmington’s quality of life for generations. I offer experience, common sense, and integrity to help carefully guide appropriate successful commercial and residential development. Some current proposals have very real, negative impacts to our city. Whether outside interests are developers; or other government agencies; the responsibility of our elected officials is to protect the residents of Farmington.

The Legacy highway and its connections; as well as Bus Rapid Transit can only benefit the citizens of Farmington if appropriately implemented. No city official, in good conscience can allow another freeway or a dedicated bus transit lane to bisect our neighborhoods. I am committed to keeping an additional Legacy Highway, the Legacy North Connector, out of ALL of our neighborhoods. I am committed to keeping BRT in the transportation corridor and off of 200 E. I am committed to the idea that with a re-design/re-model of the Park Lane interchange, and improved city street connections we can solve the long term transportation concerns surrounding that area. With the exercise of common sense and integrity the city council can preserve our wonderful sense of community, as well as address the issues. We do not need to sacrifice the uniqueness and unity of Farmington. With creative thinking and a commitment to the citizens we represent we can solve our challenges, while keeping intact the things we love about Farmington.
